Real Estate (Energy) Associate

London – £72,000 - £95,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Real Estate Solicitor (2-5 PQE) to join the nationally recognised Energy & Natural Resources team of a leading international law firm in Bristol.

The team is experiencing sustained growth, with a strong pipeline of high-value instructions across renewable energy, infrastructure and major development projects. Working with an impressive client base ranging from emerging energy businesses to multinational utilities, developers, financial institutions and government bodies, you'll gain exposure to some of the most significant projects shaping the UK's energy transition.

This is an opportunity to join an established, highly regarded practice where you'll have genuine responsibility, direct client exposure and the support of experienced lawyers across a wider national Real Estate team of over 150 fee earners.
Importantly, previous energy sector experience is not essential. The team is equally interested in commercially minded Real Estate Solicitors with strong transactional or development experience who are looking to develop a specialism in energy and infrastructure.

The Work
You'll advise on a diverse range of real estate matters connected to major energy and infrastructure developments, including:
  • Property aspects of renewable energy projects, including onshore wind, solar, battery storage and hydrogen developments.
  • Land acquisitions, disposals, option agreements and development transactions.
  • Real estate arrangements supporting major energy infrastructure and utility projects.
  • Commercial property matters, including landlord and tenant, asset management and portfolio management.
  • Property requirements for energy businesses, including operational facilities and wider development projects.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across Real Estate, Energy and other specialist practice areas on complex, often high-value transactions.
The work is varied, commercially significant and offers the opportunity to build expertise in a rapidly evolving sector.

About You
The team is looking for a Solicitor with approximately 2-5 years' PQE and a strong foundation in commercial real estate.
Ideally, you'll bring:
  • Experience in commercial real estate, property development or transactional property work, gained within a reputable regional, national or City practice.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills.
  • A commercially focused approach and confidence working with clients and colleagues.
  • An interest in renewable energy, infrastructure or major development projects.
  • The ability to manage your own workload while contributing effectively to a busy, collaborative team.
You do not need to be an established energy specialist. Lawyers with broader commercial property experience who are genuinely interested in transitioning into the sector are strongly encouraged to apply.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
  • High-quality work: Exposure to complex and high-value transactions involving major domestic and international energy clients.
  • Career development: An opportunity to establish yourself in Energy & Natural Resources within a nationally recognised practice.
  • Established platform: Join a substantial Real Estate team with specialist expertise and a strong market reputation.
  • Meaningful responsibility: The team is growing in response to sustained client demand, providing opportunities for hands-on involvement and client contact.
  • Flexible working: A genuinely flexible hybrid working culture, typically involving two to three office days per week, depending on team and client requirements..
