Senior Construction Associate

West Midlands – £70,000 - £80,000

This role offers the chance to work on complex, high-profile domestic and international projects across the energy, infrastructure and built environment sectors.

You will join a collaborative and ambitious team recognised for its technical expertise and commercial approach to delivering strategic advice on major construction and engineering matters.

The Role

You will advise a broad range of national and international clients including developers, contractors, funders, public sector bodies and major corporates on non-contentious construction matters relating to large-scale development and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting major transactions, leading on matters and helping to drive continued growth within the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising clients on complex non-contentious construction and engineering matters
  • Drafting and negotiating construction documentation including NEC, FIDIC and JCT contracts
  • Supporting major energy, infrastructure and development projects
  • Managing your own matters while supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Taking an active role in business development initiatives and networking opportunities
  • Collaborating with colleagues across national and international teams
About You

The ideal candidate will have:
  • At least 4 years’ PQE in non-contentious construction law
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of construction and engineering projects
  • Experience working with NEC, FIDIC and/or JCT standard form contracts
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • A commercial and practical approach to problem solving
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
  • A collaborative mindset and proactive attitude
