An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a growing and ambitious law firm in Manchester at Partner or Head of Department level.
 
This is a key leadership role within the business, offering the chance to take ownership of an established and developing Private Client function. With an existing caseload in place and further investment planned, this position provides a strong platform for someone looking to make a meaningful impact and drive future growth.
 
The Role:
 
The successful candidate will lead the Private Client department, managing a varied caseload while overseeing and developing a small but expanding team. The current team includes a trainee and a paralegal, with clear plans for further growth over the next 12 months.
 
The caseload will cover a broad range of matters including wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs, and trusts. Alongside this, the role will involve a strong focus on business development and networking, building relationships with clients and introducers to support the continued expansion of the department.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a full private client caseload, including wills, probate, estate planning, LPAs, and trusts
• Lead and develop the Private Client team, including supervision of a trainee and paralegal
• Drive the strategic growth of the department
• Actively engage in business development and networking activities
• Build and maintain relationships with referrers and clients
• Contribute to wider firm strategy and growth initiatives

About You:

• Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in Private Client work
• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of private client matters
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
• A following of work or proven ability to generate business would be highly desirable
• Commercially minded with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach
• Confident networker with excellent communication skills
