Employment Associate 4+ PQE

West Midlands – Salary negotiable based on experience

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer to work on high-quality, varied employment matters for a broad client base, within a supportive and forward-thinking team that places real emphasis on collaboration, flexibility and career progression.

The Role

The successful candidate will handle a wide-ranging employment caseload, including:
  • Advising employers on contentious and non-contentious employment matters
  • Employment Tribunal litigation, including complex and high-value claims
  • TUPE, restructurings and redundancies
  • Disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Drafting and advising on contracts, policies and settlement agreements
  • Supporting clients with day-to-day employment advice
  • Supervising and mentoring junior team members
  • Supporting partners with business development and client relationship management
You will have a high level of client contact and the opportunity to take on responsibility for matters with appropriate autonomy.

The Candidate
  • Significant PQE in employment law (typically 5+ years’ PQE, but flexibility for the right candidate)
  • Strong experience across both contentious and advisory employment work
  • Proven ability to manage matters independently and supervise junior lawyers
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills
  • A commercial, pragmatic approach to employment law
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to team growth
