Residential Development Associate

West Midlands – £60,000

This is an exciting opportunity to join a market-leading residential development team in Birmingham, working on high-value, complex land transactions for some of the UK's leading housebuilders and developers.

Our client is seeking an ambitious Residential Development Associate with 3+ years' PQE who is passionate about land acquisition and keen to build a long-term career within a highly regarded team offering excellent progression opportunities.

The Role

You will work on a broad range of residential development matters, advising national and regional housebuilders, developers, land promoters and institutional landowners on significant projects across England and Wales.

Your responsibilities:

• Advising on complex, large-scale land acquisitions for major housebuilders.
• Drafting and negotiating development agreements, conditional contracts and strategic land options.
• Advising on collaboration agreements, joint ventures and other arrangements between developers.
• Supporting the disposal of serviced land parcels to housing associations and other developers.
• Advising on funding arrangements and wider development structures.
• Working on strategic land projects and major urban regeneration schemes.
• Building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the team.

You will have the opportunity to work on developments ranging from individual land transactions to major schemes delivering thousands of new homes.

About You

• At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in real estate or property development.
• Experience advising on commercial development, land acquisitions or complex property transactions.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and client management skills.
• A commercial approach and the ability to manage transactions effectively.
• A genuine interest in residential development and strategic land work.
• The ambition to develop your practice, build client relationships and progress towards senior leadership.

Experience acting for housebuilders is advantageous but not essential.
