Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment is pleased to be working with a leading national law firm, who are seeking an experienced Housing Solicitor to join their Manchester office as a Director.
  
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Housing Lawyer looking to step into a senior leadership position, managing and developing an established Housing department whilst continuing to undertake high-quality housing work.
  
The Role
  
As Housing Director, you will be responsible for:
  
• Managing a complex caseload of Housing Law matters
• Supervising solicitors, trainees and caseworkers
• Housing possession proceedings
• Homelessness applications and appeals
• Judicial review matters
• Housing disrepair claims
• Unlawful eviction and harassment claims
• Ensuring Legal Aid compliance and quality standards
• Supporting business development and department growth
• Working closely with senior leadership and the Board
  
The Candidate
  
The successful candidate will possess:
  
• Significant Housing Law experience
• Strong knowledge of Legal Aid and publicly funded work
• Previous supervision or management experience
• Excellent advocacy and client care skills
• Strong leadership and communication ability
• Commercial awareness and growth-focused mindset
• The ability to mentor and develop junior team members
