Non-Contentious Construction Associate - 2+ PQE

Birmingham – £58,000 - £70,000

They are looking to recruit an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Associate to support existing workflows and play an important role in the continued expansion of the team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a construction lawyer looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking and ambitious practice. You will work on a broad range of high-quality construction and engineering matters, advising a diverse client base and gaining excellent exposure to complex and varied instructions.

The Role

As part of the Construction Team, you will provide high-quality legal advice to clients, delivering practical and commercially focused solutions across a range of construction and engineering projects.

Your work will include:

• Advising clients on a variety of building, construction and engineering projects.
• Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice on construction law issues.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction documentation and contractual provisions.
• Advising on relevant regulations, contractual procedures and construction-related legal issues.
• Supporting other practice areas where appropriate, including providing construction expertise to the firm's Professional Indemnity team.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
• Developing strong and trusted client relationships.
• Contributing to business development and marketing initiatives, including seminars, workshops, articles, blogs and client updates.
• Taking ownership of matters and responsibilities aligned with your experience and development goals.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Experience advising on non-contentious construction matters.
• Strong commercial awareness and a practical, common-sense approach.
• The ability to provide clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients.
• Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
• The ability to quickly assimilate complex information and identify practical solutions.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive and inquisitive approach, with a genuine interest in developing your construction expertise.
• An interest in business development, networking and building client relationships.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different practice areas.
