A leading Legal 500-ranked law firm is seeking an ambitious Family Paralegal to join its highly regarded Family & Children team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the country's most respected family law practices, working alongside experienced specialists on a varied caseload of both privately funded and legally aided matters.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting solicitors across a broad range of family law matters while developing their own technical knowledge and advocacy skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
Working closely with experienced family lawyers, you will assist on a varied caseload including:
- Divorce and financial remedy matters
- Private and public children proceedings
- Domestic abuse and injunction applications
- Child arrangements and specific issue orders
- Adoption and child abduction matters
- Legal Aid-funded family work
- High-net-worth private client matters
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management of family law files from instruction through to conclusion.
- Meeting with clients, taking instructions and preparing attendance notes.
- Drafting witness statements, court applications and legal correspondence.
- Preparing Legal Aid Agency funding applications.
- Attending court hearings and conferences with counsel and clients.
- Supporting fee earners with case preparation and advocacy where appropriate.
- Ensuring files are managed in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience within Family Law.
- A Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong drafting, organisational and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for family law and client care.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
- A proactive attitude and desire to develop a long-term career within family law.
