Overview

A well-established firm is seeking an experienced legal billing professional to join its costs function within Greater Manchester. This is a key role for a confident and highly capable individual who can work independently and make an immediate impact.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will manage a broad range of legal costs and billing matters across multiple practice areas, taking responsibility for accurate, compliant, and timely billing processes. The role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to operate autonomously across complex files.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and managing family law bills, including high-cost and exceptional cases
• Handling Legal Aid Agency submissions and portal processes
• Drafting Court of Protection six-column bills
• Managing criminal billing across both Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court matters
• Ensuring full accuracy and compliance across all billing activity

Candidate Requirements

The client is seeking an experienced costs professional with:

• Proven background in legal costs drafting and billing
• Strong knowledge of Legal Aid billing procedures and submissions
• Experience with Court of Protection costs and six-column bills
• Criminal costs and billing experience
• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
