A leading London-based private client law firm is seeking a talented Associate to join its highly regarded Contentious Trusts & Estates team.

Recognised as a market leader in private wealth disputes, the team advises high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees, executors, charities and other fiduciaries on a wide range of complex and often high-value disputes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop a specialist contentious private wealth practice within a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.

The Opportunity Working as part of an established and respected team, you will assist with and manage a broad range of contentious trusts and estates matters, including:
  • Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
  • Will validity disputes, including challenges involving testamentary capacity, undue influence, fraud and knowledge and approval
  • Domestic and cross-border trust disputes
  • Breach of trust and fiduciary duty claims
  • Trustee and executor removal applications
  • Court of Protection and attorney disputes
  • Proprietary estoppel and constructive trust claims
  • Estate administration disputes
  • Charity and foundation-related disputes
  • Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and settlement negotiations
  • High Court litigation and procedural matters
You will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on technically challenging and often high-profile matters while taking increasing responsibility for your own caseload.

About You The successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Around 2–3 years' PQE as a qualified solicitor
  • Experience gained within a recognised contentious trusts, estates or private wealth disputes practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of contentious probate, trusts and estate litigation
  • Experience of High Court litigation procedures
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and case management abilities
  • A commercial and client-focused approach
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong academic credentials
