Childrens Law Solicitor , Bristol
This is a great opportunity to join a well established Childrens Law team in Bristol who are looking to strengthen.
The firm attracts both privately and publicly funded work and you will get the chance to run cases yourself and you represent the client in court if need be.
You will be highly motivated by providing a high level of service to your clients and you will display passion in this role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Running a caseload of private law children/domestic abuse cases
- Attending court with and without counsel and undertaking own advocacy
- Attending client meetings
- Dealing with legal aid and privately cases funded cases
- Drafting documents, briefs to counsel, statements etc.
- File maintenance to Legal Aid Audit standards
- Communicating with clients, expert witnesses and solicitors
- Business development
- Contributing towards the department's financial targets
- Any additional duties as required
Skills/Competencies required:
- Experience of family legal aid and CCMS
- Experience of private law children and domestic abuse cases
- Experience of working in a family law department
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and pro-active approach
- To be able to prioritise work and pay strict attention to detail
- Ability to use own initiative and work to strict deadlines
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
