A top regional law firm are recruiting for a Senior Family Solicitor to work as the Head of Department and lead a Family Law team. This role balances high-level fee earning with the strategic management of solicitors, trainees, and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Supervise a small team, managing performance, recruitment, and succession planning.
- Caseload: Oversee complex matters including Divorce, Financial Remedies, Children Act cases, and TOLATA.
- Operations: Ensure SRA compliance, manage Legal Aid (LAA) processes, and meet departmental billing targets.
- Growth: Drive business development and strategic departmental planning.
- Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a clean Practising Certificate.
- Experience: Substantial PQE in Family Law, including advocacy and supervising junior staff
- Technical: Strong IT skills (Office 365) and experience with legal case management systems.
- Soft Skills: Empathetic approach to vulnerable clients combined with a proactive, "forward-thinking" leadership style.
- Ideally around 10 years PQE with supervisory experience
