A leading, top-tier law firm with a nationally recognised real estate practice is looking to appoint an experienced
Senior Associate Development Lawyer to join its highly regarded team in Tunbridge Wells.
This firm is widely respected within the development sector and advises on complex, high-value residential and commercial schemes, including large-scale mixed-use projects and regeneration initiatives. Known for combining technical excellence with commercially pragmatic advice, the team works collaboratively to deliver seamless project outcomes for an impressive client base.
The Opportunity
The role offers genuine responsibility, autonomy over your own caseload, and close collaboration with specialists across planning, construction, corporate, and property finance.
Clients include national housebuilders, land promoters, institutional investors, and landed estates. The work is varied, strategic, and often high value.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of residential and/or commercial development matters
- Advising across the full development lifecycle, including options, promotion agreements, acquisitions, disposals, site assembly, and joint venture structuring
- Working closely with internal specialist teams to provide a fully integrated client service
- Delivering commercially focused, pragmatic legal advice
- Contributing to business development initiatives and strengthening client relationships
- Embracing legal technology to enhance efficiency and client delivery
You will be a confident and technically strong development lawyer with experience handling your own files and supporting complex transactions.
Essential experience: - Strong background in residential and/or commercial development
- Experience advising on options, promotion agreements, land sales and acquisitions
- Ability to manage matters independently
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Interest in business development and innovation within legal services
Experience advising national housebuilders, institutional investors, or large landowning estates would be advantageous but is not essential.
