The Team
The Housing Finance & Portfolio team acts predominantly for Registered Providers and lenders nationwide, advising on:
- Large-scale security charging exercises
- Portfolio transactions and refinancing's
- Property due diligence and title rectification projects
- Mortgaging of housing stock to and for lenders and security trustees
You will be part of a dynamic, specialist team, working closely with experienced partners and legal directors, while playing an integral role in supervising and developing junior lawyers.
The Role The role offers exposure to a broad range of property finance and housing portfolio matters, including:
- Assisting on large security charging and due diligence projects, including drafting and negotiating Certificates of Title and reports on title
- Managing smaller property finance and portfolio transactions under partner supervision
- Supervising and supporting junior fee earners in preparing properties for mortgage, sale or purchase
- Drafting and negotiating conditions precedent documentation for lenders and security trustees
- Preparing high-level and detailed title reports for asset management sales and acquisitions
- Project-managing junior team members on large-scale title and search reviews, Land Registry applications and rectification work
- Managing data collation via digital portals and supporting the use of legal tech systems
- Participating in business development, including client events, training, articles and conferences
- Supporting partners with pitches, bids and tenders
Our client is keen to speak with candidates who have: - 3–5 years’ PQE in property law
- Experience in property finance and/or property portfolio transactions
- Prior experience acting for Registered Providers and/or lenders in the housing sector
- A genuine interest in the social housing sector
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience supervising junior colleagues
- Experience using Land Registry portals, MapSearch and other web-based data platforms
- Confidence managing billing and the financial aspects of transactions
