Privacy, Data and Technology Transactions Associate

London – £180,000 - £300,000

London | Elite International Platform

This is an opportunity to join a top-tier international law firm with a market-leading Privacy, Cybersecurity, Technology and Data practice in London.

The team operates at the intersection of technology, regulation, IP and complex commercial work, advising some of the world’s most sophisticated corporates, financial institutions and technology-led businesses. The London group is fully embedded within a global practice and is consistently instructed on matters that are genuinely high-value, novel and often precedent-setting.

The Role The role offers a broad, intellectually rigorous practice spanning advisory, transactional and contentious work. Associates are trusted early with responsibility and work closely with partners who are deeply embedded in the global tech and data market.

Your work will include:
  • Advising on data protection and ePrivacy issues across product development, digital services and international operations
  • Supporting clients on cybersecurity preparedness, incident response and regulatory investigations
  • Drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements, including cloud, outsourcing, software licensing, systems integration and strategic alliances
  • Advising on technology disputes, renegotiations and regulatory risk
  • Exposure to AI, digital regulation and emerging technology frameworks, including cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters
  • Working closely with colleagues across the US, Europe and Asia on integrated global mandates
The Team
  • Highly ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 across technology, outsourcing, privacy and data
  • A genuinely international practice, with London playing a strategic role in global mandates
  • Strong culture of collaboration, intellectual curiosity and long-term development
  • Associates are encouraged to develop a distinct profile rather than operate as narrow specialists
The Ideal Candidate
  • 2–8 years’ PQE (England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction)
  • Experience in data protection, privacy, technology, IP or commercial contracts
  • Comfortable operating across regulatory, transactional and advisory workstreams
  • Strong drafting skills and an interest in complex, high-end matters
  • International mindset and confidence working with demanding global clients
Candidates from Magic Circle, US, Silver Circle, top international or strong specialist practices will be of interest, as will those with a demonstrable technology or data focus within a broader commercial practice.
Why This Role?
  • Access to premium global work without siloing
  • Exposure to cutting-edge issues in AI, cyber, digital regulation and technology risk
  • Clear investment in associate development and progression
  • London platform with genuine international leverage and visibility
