Operational & Performance Manager - Recoveries
 
A leading legal services business is looking to appoint an experienced Operational & Performance Manager to join its Recoveries team in Leeds.
 
This is a management-focused role combining technical oversight, performance management and operational support. You'll work closely with senior managers to ensure the team delivers against agreed SLAs, KPIs and quality standards while maintaining strong levels of client service and compliance.
 
The role is hybrid, with 2 days per week in the Leeds office and the remainder working remotely.
 
The Role
 
You'll be responsible for:

• Supporting senior management with divisional and team objectives
• Maintaining strong technical knowledge across recoveries and counterclaims
• Monitoring performance against SLAs, KPIs, productivity and quality measures
• Managing workloads and ensuring files are progressed efficiently
• Conducting and overseeing file reviews, supervision and quality checks
• Using management information and reporting tools to identify performance trends and areas for improvement
• Supporting the development of processes, training and best practice
• Assisting with recruitment, induction and ongoing team development
• Conducting regular 1-2-1s, appraisals and performance reviews
• Dealing with complaints and compliance matters
• Carrying out audits and making recommendations where improvements are required
• Working collaboratively with managers and senior colleagues to maintain consistent service delivery

About You
 
You'll ideally have:

• Strong technical knowledge and experience of uninsured loss recovery claims and procedures
• Experience working within a recoveries/litigation environment
• Authorisation to conduct litigation, or be working towards this
• Previous experience of performance or operational management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret and present management information
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good Excel and general IT skills
