Are you an experienced Health Advisory Associate looking to elevate your practice within a top-tier national team?
We are partnering with a market-leading UK law firm to appoint a Health Advisory and Inquest Senior Associate in Birmingham.
You'll be joining a high-calibre team of 30 specialist lawyers, you will lead on high-profile Court of Protection matters and inquests, primarily advising the NHS alongside independent health & social care providers and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Lead a varied, complex caseload covering Court of Protection (including advocacy) and inquests.
- Advisory Spectrum: Work alongside specialists handling High Court serious medical treatment cases, Mental Capacity, Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS), safeguarding, funding/CHC disputes, Judicial Reviews, and Human Rights Act claims.
- Client Engagement: Act as a key trusted advisor to NHS trusts, local authorities, and private healthcare entities.
- 4+ years PQE with strong, proven expertise in Court of Protection and Mental Capacity law.
- Confident advocacy skills (or a desire to develop further in court).
- A commercial, empathetic approach to managing sensitive healthcare advisory matters.
- Work-Life Balance: Truly flexible hybrid pattern (2 days office / 3 days WFH, court days counting as office time).
