The Role
You'll advise and represent clients across a broad range of family matters, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Child arrangement and residence disputes
- Financial settlements
- Consent orders and settlement agreements
- Family Court proceedings and hearings
- Negotiation, mediation and other forms of ADR
- Drafting and reviewing family law documentation
- Providing clear, practical advice to clients throughout often challenging circumstances
You'll also be expected to keep up to date with developments in family legislation and case law and take an active approach to your own professional development.
Who are we looking for?
What really matters is that you have solid, hands-on Family Law experience and are comfortable running your own caseload without day-to-day supervision.
You'll ideally have experience across contested and uncontested divorce, children matters and financial settlements, together with confidence dealing with the Family Court, drafting legal documentation and managing clients through emotionally sensitive situations.
You'll be:
- Confident managing their own caseload
- Highly organised and deadline-focused
- A strong communicator and negotiator
- Client-focused, empathetic and commercially aware
- Comfortable handling emotionally challenging matters
- Detail-oriented with excellent drafting skills
- Confident appearing at or preparing for Family Court hearings
- Familiar with case management and legal practice software
