Financial Mis-Selling Solicitor
Manchester | Newly Qualified - 2 PQE

A leading legal organisation is expanding its litigation offering and is looking to appoint a Financial Mis-Selling Solicitor to join its established team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have experience handling financial mis-selling and/or complex consumer litigation matters, with exposure to areas such as PCP claims, investment mis-selling, PPI, omnibus claims, professional negligence, or other financial product disputes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their expertise within a growing litigation department, take ownership of their own caseload, and contribute to the development of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of financial mis-selling claims from pre-action through to settlement or trial.
  • Review complex financial documentation and provide clear, commercially focused legal advice.
  • Draft and review letters of claim, particulars of claim, witness statements and other court documentation.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, financial institutions, experts and counsel.
  • Undertake legal research and maintain an up-to-date understanding of FCA regulations and relevant case law.
  • Negotiate settlements and attend court hearings and mediations where required.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and support to junior fee earners and paralegals.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with internal policies, SRA requirements and applicable FCA-related standards.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be newly qualified to 2 PQE and will have demonstrable experience in financial mis-selling, professional negligence or complex consumer litigation.

Candidates should ideally demonstrate:
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, financial products and financial mis-selling principles.
  • Experience managing a busy caseload and working effectively to deadlines.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Strong communication and client-care skills.
  • Experience using case management systems, ideally Proclaim or a similar platform.
The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to join a developing litigation team at an exciting stage of its growth, with genuine scope to take ownership of matters, support junior colleagues and play a key role in the continued development of the department.
