Assistant Head of Conveyancing

Oxfordshire – £55,000 - £65,000

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a well-established law firm as Assistant Head of Conveyancing.
Working alongside the Head of Department, you'll combine managing your own quality caseload with supporting the day-to-day leadership of a busy and successful conveyancing team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to step into a more senior position while remaining actively involved in client work.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion.
• Assisting with the supervision, mentoring and development of junior team members.
• Supporting workflow management, compliance and quality assurance across the department.
• Advising on a range of residential property matters, including sales, purchases, leasehold transactions, transfers of equity and shared ownership.
• Working closely with the Head of Department to improve processes, maintain service standards and contribute to the continued growth of the team.
• Building strong relationships with clients, introducers and colleagues while supporting business development initiatives.

About You
You'll have:

• At least five years' experience is ideal whether as a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive. If you feel you would still be suitable but don't quite meet the PQE, applications are still welcome.
• A strong background in residential conveyancing with the confidence to manage complex matters independently.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring colleagues.
• Excellent communication, organisational and client care skills.
• A solid understanding of CQS requirements, AML regulations and SRA compliance.
• Experience using case management systems and a commercial, solutions-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
