Senior Costs Lawyer / Draftsman

Greater London – Salary negotiable based on experience

The Opportunity

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Costs Lawyer / Draftsperson to join the specialist Costs Team of a leading national Legal 500 law firm.
Working alongside some of the most experienced Costs Lawyers and Draftspersons in the industry, you'll manage a varied caseload of complex, high-value costs matters across personal injury, clinical negligence, group litigation and commercial litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex costs matters.
• Draft high-value Bills of Costs and Costs Budgets.
• Prepare Points of Dispute and Replies.
• Conduct costs negotiations and settlements.
• Attend Detailed Assessment Hearings and CCMCs where required.
• Advise fee earners on costs strategy and recovery.
• Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge.
• Support process improvements and technology-led initiatives.

About You

You'll have significant experience as a Costs Lawyer / Draftsperson, strong technical knowledge of costs law and procedure, and experience handling complex litigation costs matters. You'll also possess excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. A Costs Lawyer qualification or ACL membership is desirable but not essential.
