Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner A specialist legal practice is seeking to recruit an experienced Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner to join its established Property team on a full-time basis or part-time basis.
The successful candidate will have experience handling freehold and leasehold transactions, including leasehold flats, as well as registered and unregistered properties. Experience dealing with tenancies, repossession proceedings and general property-related issues such as boundary disputes and neighbour disputes is essential.
Experience reading and interpreting building survey reports, identifying issues arising from those reports and commissioning or reviewing supplementary reports would be advantageous.
This is a unique conveyancing role supporting existing private client, trust and Court of Protection matters.
Matters are often complex and varied, requiring close collaboration with deputies, solicitors and other professionals involved in the management of clients' affairs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Opening new files and undertaking AML compliance procedures.
- Commissioning surveys and additional specialist reports where required.
- Managing residential sales and purchases from instruction through to completion, including post-completion matters such as SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
- Liaising with surveyors, estate agents, clients and other solicitors throughout transactions.
- Attending client meetings, taking detailed notes and progressing matters arising from those meetings.
- Assisting Court of Protection teams with property-related matters and providing support on residential property issues.
- Meeting time recording and billing targets.
Applicants should possess a minimum of three years' experience managing residential conveyancing transactions as a fee earner. Suitable qualifications may include a law degree, PGDL, CILEX qualifications with a property law focus, or qualification through the Council for Licensed Conveyancers.
The role requires an individual capable of managing transactions independently from start to finish, producing bespoke correspondence, reports and legal documents while maintaining a proactive and organised approach.
