Supervising Solicitor (Care) | Childcare Law | Trafford
 
A well-established and growing law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Supervising Solicitor to join its busy Care team based in Trafford.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a Child Panel Accredited Solicitor who enjoys a mix of quality casework, advocacy, supervision and team development. The successful candidate will join an established childcare department handling a broad range of public law children matters and will play an important role in supporting junior members of the team.
 
The firm is keen to speak with candidates who are confident running complex care proceedings from start to finish, representing clients at court and working closely with guardians, experts, local authorities and counsel where required.
 
The Role
 
The successful candidate will:
 
- Manage their own caseload of Care Proceedings and public law children matters
- Conduct advocacy where appropriate and attend court hearings, meetings and conferences
- Advise and support parents and family members involved in care proceedings
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees and paralegals
- Work closely with the Head of Department to ensure matters progress efficiently and to a high standard
- Assist with networking, relationship building and the continued growth of the department
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid and regulatory requirements
 
About You
 
The ideal candidate will:
 
- Be a qualified Solicitor with strong experience in Children Act proceedings
- Hold Child Panel Accreditation
- Be confident managing their own caseload independently
- Have experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Be comfortable undertaking advocacy and representing clients at court
- Possess excellent client care and communication skills
- Be organised, proactive and able to work effectively within a busy team environment
