A highly reputable and successful regional law firm in North Yorkshire is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Private Client Solicitor to join their established team as Head of Department for one of their regional offices.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious private client specialist looking to take the next step into a senior leadership role within a respected and growing firm.

The successful candidate will become part of the firm’s Senior Management Team, playing a key role in the continued growth and strategic development of the private client offering across the region.

You will oversee a well-established and highly proficient Private Client team consisting of 8 staff members, including secretarial support, fee earners and senior associates. The department has an excellent local reputation and a strong existing client base.

The caseload will include a broad range of private client matters such as:
  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Trusts
  • Court of Protection matters
  • Tax and succession planning
Alongside managing your own high-quality caseload, you will provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to the wider team while contributing strategically to the firm’s continued success.

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives with:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ PQE in Private Client law
  • Strong technical expertise across a broad range of private client matters
  • Previous experience managing or supervising a team
  • Excellent client care and relationship management skills
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and commercially aware approach
  • The ability to contribute to business development and departmental growth
STEP membership or working towards qualification would be advantageous, although not essential.
