Real Estate Finance Associate / Senior Associate

Edinburgh – £65,000 - £90,000

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions for an impressive client base that includes major UK and international banks, private equity houses, institutional borrowers, funds and corporates.

The team is recognised as one of the leading Real Estate Finance practices in the market, regularly advising on complex bilateral, syndicated and structured finance transactions.

The Opportunity

This role offers exposure to a broad range of sophisticated Real Estate Finance matters, with a particular focus on development finance and high-value transactional work across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.

The successful candidates will work closely with specialists across Real Estate, Construction, Corporate, Tax and international teams, providing a truly collaborative and cross-border working environment.

  • Experience within the hospitality sector, including Hotels, Food & Beverage and Travel & Tourism, would be advantageous, although candidates from other sector backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advising lender and borrower clients on a broad range of Real Estate Finance transactions
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance documentation, including LMA documentation
  • Supporting complex bilateral, syndicated and structured finance deals
  • Working closely with colleagues across multiple practice groups and international offices
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Participating in business development initiatives, networking and client events
  • Contributing to training, knowledge sharing and wider team development activities
  • At Senior Associate / Principal Associate level, supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
About You 
  • Strong experience in Real Estate Finance gained within a reputable law firm
  • Excellent working knowledge of LMA documentation
  • Strong technical and commercial drafting skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to client service
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Experience or interest in hospitality sector transactions would be beneficial
  • A desire to work within a supportive, non-hierarchical and ambitious team environment
  • For senior-level applicants, experience supervising and coaching junior team members
