The Opportunity

A leading full‑service firm is seeking a talented Non‑Contentious Construction Lawyer to join its established Construction & Engineering practice. This is an excellent chance to take on high‑quality advisory and project‑driven work across a broad range of sectors, while developing your career within a supportive and ambitious national team.
You’ll work on major development projects, complex energy and infrastructure schemes, and high‑value commercial real estate work. The team advises on everything from front‑end project structuring to drafting and negotiating key construction documentation for sophisticated UK and international clients.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys front‑end project work, wants exposure to large‑scale developments, and values working in a firm where progression decisions are made locally and transparently.

You will focus primarily on non‑contentious construction, including:
  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke forms)
  • Advising on development and regeneration projects
  • Preparing and negotiating professional appointments, collateral warranties and security documentation
  • Supporting major energy, infrastructure and real estate schemes
  • Advising clients throughout the project lifecycle on procurement, risk management and project delivery
  • Working alongside commercial, real estate and corporate teams on multidisciplinary transactions
Clients span multiple sectors and including developers, listed companies, local authorities and international businesses.

You will also have the opportunity to supervise junior lawyers and contribute to the development of the wider team.

What they're looking for:

Have 4–8 years’ PQE in construction law with strong front‑end experience
  • Are confident drafting and negotiating key construction documents
  • Have a good understanding of industry‑standard forms (JCT/NEC etc.)
  • Enjoy working collaboratively across practice areas
  • Are comfortable supervising and supporting juniors
  • Want to build long‑term relationships with high‑profile clients
  • Are looking for a firm that supports progression and offers real career visibility
This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer who wants top‑quality non‑contentious construction work without the London lifestyle or hours, within a collaborative and respected team.
