Law Costs - Inter Partes Draftsperson

This permanent role offers you the opportunity to join an established team of Costs Lawyers and Draftspersons, where you'll play a vital part in the billing process and recovery for the legal profession. With your strong technical knowledge and exceptional negotiation skills, you'll be instrumental in driving the company's success.
- Collaborate with a dynamic team to draft and prepare inter partes bills of costs, costs budgets, and points of reply/dispute.- Leverage your expertise in Legal Aid to draft inter partes bills with a seamless integration.- Contribute to the drafting of Claim1's, 1a's, and VHCC/HCCP cases, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.

Preferred Requirements:

• Proficiency in drafting inter partes bills of costs, costs budgets, and points of reply/dispute.
• Extensive experience in drafting inter partes bills with a Legal Aid element.
• Ability to draft estimates of costs to accompany Allocation Questionnaires and Pre-Trial Checklists.
• Expertise in negotiating bills, including attendance at CCMC's.
• Excellent time management skills to work within deadlines and provide technical/costs guidance to fee earners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A strong academic background with a minimum of 2 years of legal experience in Costs Law.
• Proficiency in drafting legal aid and inter partes bills, along with a clear understanding and application of the civil procedure rules relating to costs.
• Ability to risk assess, provide sound advice to clients, and set matters down for assessment.
