Employment Associate NQ to 2PQE

Greater Manchester – £62,000 - £68,000

Douglas Scott are working with a well-regarded Employment team advising employer clients across the UK and internationally is looking to recruit a junior Employment Solicitor.

The team acts on high-quality, complex matters spanning contentious and advisory work. Clients include businesses in tech, life sciences, financial services, hospitality and sport. The work is varied, commercially focused and often strategic in nature.

This is an excellent opportunity for a junior lawyer who wants early responsibility, genuine client exposure and involvement in sophisticated employment matters from the outset.

The Role
You will support Partners and senior lawyers across a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
  • Employment Tribunal litigation (drafting ET3s, schedules and counter-schedules of loss, witness statements and supporting hearing preparation)
  • Workplace and regulatory investigations
  • Disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Redundancy and restructuring exercises
  • TUPE advice
  • Senior exits and employment status issues
  • Organisational change and transformation projects
You will attend client meetings, draft advice and develop strong client contact from an early stage.

About You
  • 0–2 PQE (including NQs or those due to qualify with an employment seat)
  • Respondent employment experience during training
  • Solid grounding in employment law fundamentals
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Commercially aware and confident communicating with clients
  • Proactive, organised and keen to build a long-term career in employment law
