Court of Protection Paralegal - Birkenhead A well-regarded law firm in Birkenhead is seeking an enthusiastic and organised
Court of Protection Paralegal to join its supportive and collaborative team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to start or transfer into Court of Protection work, with structured training and development provided.
Whether you have prior law firm experience or are looking to retrain from another area of law, the firm offers a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified Court of Protection paralegal, combining internal mentoring with opportunities for external accreditation.
The Role The successful candidate will provide hands-on support to solicitors on a variety of Court of Protection matters, including:
- Assisting with professional and lay deputyship files
- Drafting court applications, statements, and correspondence
- Maintaining relationships with clients, families, therapists, and other professionals
- Preparing OPG annual reports and managing Financial Lasting Power of Attorney queries
- Managing deputyship and client designated account balances, making authorised payments, and performing monthly reconciliations
- Overseeing a small caseload of execution-only Personal Injury Trusts
- Opening and closing files efficiently
This role offers meaningful exposure to Court of Protection work from day one, with increasing responsibility as skills develop.
About You - No prior Court of Protection experience required - full training provided
- Strong organisational skills and keen attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with clients and professionals
- Comfortable handling figures and client account management
- Team player with a collaborative mindset
- Experience working in a law firm preferred
- Open to CILEX or equivalent paralegals interested in retraining into Court of Protection (desired)
