An opportunity for a senior corporate lawyer who wants influence, autonomy, and a different model to traditional private practice.
  
This position sits within the legal services division of a FTSE250 financial services organisation and is focused on establishing and growing a Manchester-based corporate capability. It’s aimed at someone operating at partner or near-partner level who wants to lead from the front, shape a team, and develop a practice with the backing of a well-known national brand and existing client relationships.
  
The work centres on mainstream corporate matters - acquisitions and disposals, shareholder issues, restructurings, investments, and day-to-day company law support - acting for a broad commercial client base. You’ll operate in a hybrid environment that combines private practice quality work with the stability and long-term focus of an in-house setting, without the intensity of traditional billing targets.
  
Beyond technical delivery, the role is about leadership: building a presence in the market, deepening client relationships, mentoring lawyers, and influencing the strategic direction of the service line.
  
The package is expected to be in the £100k–£130k range, with strong overall benefits and the chance to create a genuine legacy practice supported by established infrastructure, cross-referrals, and brand recognition.
