Role Overview An excellent opportunity for a Wills & Probate Executive/Paralegal to join a well-established Private Client team. The successful candidate will support fee earners with a range of matters including Wills, LPAs, and estate administration, while also managing their own caseload appropriate to their level of experience. The role requires a proactive, client-focused individual with strong technical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
Key Responsibilities - Provide support to fee earners across the Private Client department, including the preparation of Wills, LPAs, and estate administration work.
- Manage a personal caseload under supervision, ensuring all work aligns with the firm's Office Manual and compliance standards.
- Deliver excellent client care through clear communication, professionalism, and a responsive approach.
- Produce accurate and detailed documentation, including correspondence and attendance notes.
- Maintain well-organised files and ensure effective case management.
- Record time in line with firm policies and assist with billing when required.
- Contribute to the development and management of a growing caseload.
- Support senior fee earners as needed and undertake additional tasks as directed by Directors or Department Heads.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to team objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Minimum 1 year's experience working in a Private Client department as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
- Strong understanding of Wills, Probate, LPAs, and general Private Client processes.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) with strong typing and document-production skills.
- Experience using case and quality management systems (e.g., Lexcel, Tikit).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to use initiative when dealing with clients and enquiries.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and flexible approach.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Good working knowledge of relevant legal procedures and the Private Client practice area.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
