Regulatory Associate
Manchester – £80,000 - £85,000
Regulatory Associate (4-6 PQE)
High-Quality Work. Broad Sector Exposure. No Insurer Panels.
£80k-£90K Package
Here’s one for regulatory lawyers who are ready for something a little different.
This team is best known for its health and safety work - and rightly so - but that’s just the starting point. You’ll also have the chance to work across food law, product safety, and contentious environmental matters. It's a genuinely broad regulatory practice with variety built in.
The team sits outside the insurer-panel world. That means lower volume, higher-quality cases, and real relationships with sophisticated clients. No churn. No 50-case piles landing on your desk. Just the space to do things properly and to get stuck into meaningful advisory and litigation work. Think board-level briefings, policy reviews, and front-end risk advice – not just after-the-fact defence work.
They're looking to hire someone at the 4-6 PQE mark, someone with a solid foundation in regulatory work, whether that’s from private practice or a relevant in-house role. It doesn't need to be all health and safety. If your experience leans more towards food, product or environmental safety, that’s welcome too as long as you’re open to broadening your skills and building capability across other regulated sectors.
You’ll get good work, genuine client exposure, and a sensible culture. You’ll also be joining a practice that wants to grow, which means longer-term opportunity for the right person.
Regional focus: Manchester is the hub, but they’ll also consider candidates in Birmingham or Leeds.
If this sounds like something you'd like to hear more about, just drop me a line.
