Location: Manchester / Hybrid Working
Salary: Highly Competitive, Based on Experience An expanding, specialist Court of Protection firm is seeking a dedicated Court of Protection Solicitor to join its highly regarded team. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor with 0-4 years’ experience to join a firm renowned for its expertise.
The Role: You will manage your own caseload of Property and Affairs files, supported by experienced Case Workers and trainee solicitors, while also assisting senior team members with complex and high-value matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseload of Property & Affairs Court of Protection files from instruction to resolution.
- Working collaboratively with case management teams, paralegals, and trainees to ensure high standards of client care.
- Supporting senior directors with complex, high-value or contested files.
- Regularly liaising with clients, families, carers, and professionals on a wide range of legal and practical issues.
- Preparing and submitting applications to the Court of Protection, including professional deputyship appointments.
- Advising on financial abuse investigations, care funding options, and welfare issues affecting vulnerable individuals.
- Preparing Court bundles, instructions to counsel, and supporting litigation where required.
- Working closely with an experienced leadership team including three CoP directors and a recognised OPG panel deputy.
What We’re Looking For: - NQ – 4 years PQE in Court of Protection space.
- Confident in managing your own caseload with a good grasp of practical and legal issues.
- Experience with high-value professional deputyship matters and complex client needs.
- Familiarity with contested CoP work, financial abuse investigations, and care funding frameworks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
- Background in Local Authority work welcomed.
- Strong organisational and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
