Construction Associate

Greater London – £95,000 - £115,000

An established and highly regarded West End law firm is seeking a talented Construction Associate (4–6 years’ PQE) to join its growing and busy team.

Working alongside a recognised leader in the construction space, this opportunity offers a strong mix of non-contentious and contentious work, with a current emphasis on non-contentious matters (approximately 75%). You’ll be advising a broad range of clients including high-net-worth individuals, developers, contractors, funders, and consultants on high-profile residential and commercial projects, including matters related to the Building Safety Act and complex cladding issues.

The role will involve:
  • Drafting and negotiating a full suite of construction documentation (building contracts, professional appointments, warranties, agreements for lease, and more)
  • Advising on procurement and project structuring
  • Supporting clients on live project issues and dispute avoidance
  • Handling contentious matters such as design defects, payment disputes, and contractor insolvency through adjudication or litigation
Requirements:
  • 4–6 years’ post-qualification experience in construction law
  • Strong foundation in non-contentious construction work, ideally complemented by exposure to contentious matters
  • Experience working with both private and commercial clients
  • Excellent drafting skills and a practical, client-led approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, growing team
This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with a strong reputation in the construction sector, where you’ll receive high-quality work, clear progression prospects, and the chance to learn from one of the standout practitioners in the market.
