Solicitor (0–3 PQE) – Casualty Police Claims
Location: Liverpool OR Manchester (2 days in the office)

Are you looking to take on high-profile, complex and meaningful work? Our client’s Emergency Services team is one of the largest in the UK, specialising in advising and representing police forces nationwide.
We are recruiting for a Solicitor (0–3 PQE) to join the national Casualty Police Claims team. This is a rare opportunity to work exclusively with police forces, handling sensitive, high-value and sometimes high-profile cases.

The Role

• Manage your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated civil claims, including malfeasance cases (false imprisonment, trespass, malicious prosecution, Human Rights Act claims) and employer’s liability claims.
• Act on behalf of police forces, claims handlers and insurers.
• Support client development through training and networking opportunities.
• Mentor junior colleagues and assist senior fee earners.
• Attend hearings and conduct your own advocacy where appropriate.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (0–3 years’ PQE).
• Experience defending civil claims preferred, though claimant experience will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of CPR and litigation; police law knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Confident in working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and willing to travel.
