Civil Liberties Solicitor/Fee Earner (Re train)

A Solicitor/Fee Earner is wanted for an excellent Civil Liberties/Human Rights opportunity with a Legal 500 law firm based in Manchester. Salary is negotiable dependant on experience.

My client is an award winning, national law firm with an enviable reputation in the market. They are nationally recognised for championing justice, equality and human rights and they represent clients in many high profile cases.

Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to recruit a Solicitor/Fee Earner to join their award winning Civil Liberties team. The ideal candidate will bring both legal expertise and compassion, managing high profile cases that uphold fundamental rights and protect individuals’ freedoms. You will lead, collaborate and challenge with confidence and conviction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal advice and representation in civil liberties cases, including judicial reviews, freedom of information requests, discrimination claims, and human rights breaches.
  • Draft, file and manage all necessary court documents and legal materials.
  • Draft letters of claim/instruction, witness statements and complex schedules of loss.
  • Interact with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring communication is clear, empathetic and supportive.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain meticulous case records and efficiency in time management.
Prior civil liberties/human rights experience would be beneficial, but we are also happy to consider candidates from a personal injury, clinical negligence, industrial disease or inquests/public law background.

This is a unique opportunity to join a national firm who has a strong commitment to upholding civil rights and social justice where you be driving meaningful change—both legally and socially.
