Housing Disrepair Solicitor / Fee Earner

Location: Liverpool – Hybrid working offered

Salary: £31,000 – £41,000 + Bonus (DOE)

Due to continued growth, my client is on the lookout for experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitors / Fee Earners to join their expanding team. With multiple positions available, this is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a supportive, high-performing law firm that genuinely values its people.

This isn’t a typical legal role – flexible working, real progression opportunities, and an excellent benefits package make this a great move for anyone looking to build a long-term career in housing litigation.

What’s in it for you?
Employees enjoy a friendly, down-to-earth environment, great training, and a strong focus on internal progression. The firm has been specialising in housing litigation for almost 40 years and continues to grow from strength to strength.
Highlights include:
  • Competitive salary + annual bonus scheme
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Day off for your birthday
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Hybrid working – city centre offices plus home working
  • Annual salary review
  • 6% employer pension contribution
  • Casual dress code
  • Death in service benefit (4x salary)
  • Company sick pay
  • Access to award-winning Employee Assistance Programme
  • Subsidised gym membership
The role:
You’ll manage a caseload of both pre- and post-litigated housing disrepair claims brought under Sections 9A and 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. The work is varied, meaningful, and gives you the chance to make a real difference to people living in poor housing conditions.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a caseload from inception to conclusion
  • Drafting Letters of Claim and issuing court proceedings
  • Reviewing housing records and surveyor reports
  • Negotiating settlements and attending mediations
  • Liaising with counsel and communicating with clients
  • Using Proclaim case management software
  • Collaborating with the wider team and supporting business objectives
What you’ll need to succeed:
This is ideal for someone with solid housing disrepair experience or a strong background in civil litigation (10+ years), looking for a new challenge. My client can support various levels of experience and has successfully welcomed candidates from other fast-paced litigation areas.
Requirements:
  • Housing Disrepair experience essential (or significant civil litigation experience)
  • Able to bill at Grade B or above
  • Proclaim or similar case management system experience
  • Confident in managing and litigating your own caseload
  • Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Degree-level education preferred; ILEX / FILEX also welcome
If you’re looking to join a firm where you’ll be genuinely valued, supported, and rewarded, this is not one to miss.
