Family Senior Associate

A well-established, top-tier law firm is looking for a Family Senior Associate to join their team in Central London.
About the Role The firm is seeking a
Senior Associate (5+ years PQE) to join its highly regarded family law team. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in both financial and children matters, with a particular emphasis on complex financial remedy cases, often involving high-net-worth individuals or intricate asset structures.
This is a key role offering the opportunity to work closely with partners, contribute to high-value and high-profile cases, and develop within a supportive, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities - Advising clients on a broad range of family law matters, with a focus on financial remedy work, including Preparation of Forms E, questionnaires, case summaries, draft orders, and witness statements
- Instructing and liaising with experts and counsel
- Preparing documents for contested hearings (FDRs, interim applications, final hearings)
- Advising on private children law issues, including all aspects of litigation and ADR
- Conducting initial consultations and onboarding new clients, including cost estimates and retainer agreements
- Managing files and time recording in line with firm protocols
- Drafting narrative billing and managing financial aspects of client work
- Supervising junior team members and contributing to their development
- Participating in business development, thought leadership, and profile-raising activities (e.g. writing articles, presenting, attending seminars)
Candidate Profile - Qualified family lawyer (5+ years PQE), with solid experience in financial remedy and private children law
- Strong litigation experience, ideally including both court work and alternative dispute resolution
- Commercially astute, with an ability to build rapport and provide pragmatic, client-focussed advice
- High levels of numeracy and familiarity with financial modelling tools (e.g. Capitalise, Quantum)
- Able to manage complex cases independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Effective communicator with excellent drafting and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, solutions-driven, and keen to contribute to the firm’s growth and reputation
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues and/or managing client relationships is desirable
- Interested in participating in wider firm initiatives, including marketing and business development
