Legal Support Team Leader
Location: Nelson / Hybrid

This is a pivotal role for a proactive and organised professional who will oversee and coordinate the Legal Support Team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional client service, and compliance with firm processes. The Role: As Legal Support Team Leader, you will take responsibility for managing the team’s workflows, maintaining high service standards, and supporting the professional development of junior staff and apprentices. Alongside your leadership duties, you will play a hands-on role in reception, client enquiries, onboarding, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities Include: - Acting as the first point of contact for clients and visitors in person, by phone, and via email.
- Greeting clients and visitors professionally, ensuring they are signed in and directed appropriately.
- Managing incoming and outgoing post, deliveries, and courier services.
- Handling initial client enquiries, including providing residential conveyancing quotes.
- Logging and tracking enquiries accurately and ensuring they reach the right person or department promptly.
- Overseeing the onboarding of new clients, including collecting and verifying documentation, preparing engagement letters, and supporting compliance processes such as KYC and AML checks.
- Updating client records and systems with accurate information.
- Providing administrative support including filing, scanning, document management, diary management, and meeting room bookings.
- Coordinating team workflows and task allocation, ensuring compliance with service levels agreed with the Operations Manager.
- Monitoring team performance, maintaining pipeline progress, and reporting delays or concerns to the Operations Manager.
- Supporting the professional development of team members and ensuring each person has a personal development plan in line with the firm’s policy.
- Assisting with training initiatives, mentoring junior staff, and participating in in-house training to build leadership, confidence, and communication skills.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- A reliable and punctual team player who is keen to learn and develop.
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and responsibly.
- Previous experience leading or coordinating a support team within a professional services environment is desirable but not essential.
