Housing Litigation Associate

Birmingham – £59,000 - £63,000

Housing Litigation Associate - Birmingham - £63,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits - 2 Days Office / 3 Days WFH

I'm working with a respected national law firm that is looking to recruit a Housing Litigation Associate to join their growing Birmingham team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, well-structured department with high-quality work and long-term career progression on offer.

The Role

You'll be managing a caseload of housing litigation matters, predominantly acting for landlords and housing associations. The caseload includes:
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Disrepair claims
  • Possession proceedings
  • Injunctions
  • General advisory work on housing law and policy
The team comprises 10 experienced fee earners, all supported by dedicated admin and legal assistants, so you can focus on the legal work, not the paperwork.

What's on Offer?
  • Salary: £63,000 DOE
  • Flexible hybrid working: 2 days in the office, 3 from home (or tailored to you)
  • True work/life balance with flexible hours
  • 25 days annual leave (plus the option to buy more)
  • Private medical & dental insurance (for you and your partner)
  • Critical illness cover
  • 5% employer pension contributions
  • Access to structured legal training and development programs
About You
  • 2-7 years PQE as a solicitor
  • Previous experience in defendant housing litigation
  • A proactive and client-focused approach to your work
This is a great role for someone who enjoys a mix of technical legal work and client interaction, in a supportive and forward thinking team.

Gareth Hibbert is a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment, having been with the company for over two years. On a personal note, he is looking to move house to something a bit bigger with a garage so he can tinker. After a busy day, Gareth doesn't get much time to unwind with a 2-year-old, but his unwinding comes during the tram journey home. He loves spending quality time with his family, as nothing beats that. If he weren't in recruitment, Gareth would likely pursue a career in microbiology, particularly focusing on soil, though he’s glad he’s not, as he thinks he might not handle all the excitement!
