Children Law Solicitor - Public & Private Law, Birmingham City Centre
 
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Children Law Solicitor to join a well-known and highly regarded Family team, working alongside experienced, hardworking and supportive Partners who are committed to developing their team and delivering an excellent service to clients.
 
The firm is looking for a solicitor with around 2+ years' PQE who has experience across both public and private children law. This is an ideal role for someone looking to develop a broad caseload within a busy and established Family department.
 
You will have the opportunity to handle a mixed caseload of public and private children matters, with work allocated according to your experience, strengths and interests. The team has a strong flow of work and is continuing to grow its private children offering, with significant demand for its services.
 
The Role

• Handling a varied caseload of public and private children law matters.
• Managing your own caseload with support from experienced Partners and colleagues.
• Conducting advocacy, including straightforward CMHs, consent hearings and other hearings appropriate to your level of experience.
• Developing your advocacy skills, with the expectation that you will undertake an increasing amount of advocacy as you progress.
• Working closely with a supportive team with dedicated administrative support.
• Contributing to the continued growth of the Family department.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

• Around 2+ years' PQE in Children/Family Law.
• Experience of both public and private children work.
• A strong interest in developing their advocacy skills.
• A hardworking, proactive and client-focused approach.
• The ability to manage a caseload effectively and work as part of a close-knit team.
• A willingness to develop and take on increasing responsibility.

Hybrid working is available following successful completion of a three-month probationary period, subject to caseload, experience and business requirements. Solicitors generally work on a hybrid basis with set office days, alongside attendance at court and client appointments where required.
 
Salary will be competitive and dependent on experience, alongside a strong benefits package including 25 days' annual leave.
