Senior Solicitor - Financial Mis-selling, PPI/Plevin (PIVAT) & Consumer Credit Claims
 
A rare opportunity has arisen for a driven and experienced Solicitor to take the lead of a high-profile PPI/Plevin (PIVAT) claims department. This is a role with real impact - you'll guide the strategy, litigation approach, and development of one of the largest PPI/Plevin portfolios in the sector.
 
You'll lead a talented team, shape best practice, and ensure exceptional standards across compliance, case management, and client service.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
- Lead and progress a major caseload of c. 250,000 PPI/Plevin (PIVAT) claims, ensuring all work meets legal and regulatory requirements
- Carry out in-depth file reviews, advise on complex or disputed cases, and set the litigation strategy
- Draft and approve pleadings, witness statements, settlement documents, and correspondence with lenders and defendants
- Oversee all pre-action work, negotiation, mediation, and, where appropriate, hearing preparation or representation
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to fee-earners, paralegals, and administrative colleagues
- Stay on top of developments in consumer credit law, FCA guidance, and Plevin-related case law
- Ensure full compliance with SRA regulations, GDPR, and internal quality frameworks
- Partner with senior leadership to improve workflows, KPIs, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Maintain excellent communication with clients throughout the claim lifecycle
 
Requirements
 
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with an active practising certificate
- Strong experience in financial mis-selling, consumer credit litigation, or civil litigation
- Detailed understanding of PPI, Plevin unfair relationship principles, and the PIVAT process
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high-volume work without compromising accuracy
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is beneficial
