Douglas Scott is exclusively recruiting a highly experienced and visionary Legal Director for a leading law firm. This senior leadership role offers the chance to shape the firm's legal operations, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure excellence across compliance, litigation management, and service delivery.
 
The Legal Director will partner closely with the Operations Director to oversee day-to-day operations, manage high-stakes relationships with external stakeholders such as litigation funders, counsel, insurers, and costs firms, and provide strategic input on staffing and key hires.
 
As the firm's Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP), the role demands hands-on supervision of legal ethics, case acquisition procedures, and quality assurance, ensuring the firm operates at the highest professional standards.
 
In addition, the Legal Director will provide strategic oversight of the firm's portfolio of Insolvency Practitioner-led PPI claims, collaborating with the Senior Associate for Financial Claims to drive strategy, supervise case progress, and negotiate with defendant institutions. They will also guide the Pre-Litigation, Litigation, and Costs departments, ensuring cases progress efficiently while supporting departmental heads with practical advice and strategic insight.
 
The ideal candidate is a qualified solicitor with significant post-qualification experience and a proven track record in legal management, compliance, and supervision. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential, and experience in financial claims or housing disrepair matters is highly desirable.
