Location: Preston / Hybrid Working
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 A respected firm is looking for a Private Client Solicitor to join its growing and highly regarded team in Preston. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or early-career solicitor to gain hands-on experience, take on real responsibility, and progress within a dynamic and supportive legal environment.
The role offers hybrid working, a stimulating and varied caseload, and the chance to work closely with experienced legal professionals recognised as leaders in their field. You'll receive ongoing guidance and mentorship to help you grow both technically and professionally.
The Role: You’ll manage a range of private client matters while also assisting senior colleagues on more complex cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting both straightforward and bespoke Wills tailored to individual client circumstances.
- Assisting with the administration of estates, including preparing probate applications, liaising with HMRC, and distributing assets.
- Advising on inheritance tax planning and asset protection strategies.
- Assisting with the creation and management of trusts, ensuring full compliance with legal and financial requirements.
- Preparing and advising on Lasting Powers of Attorney and their registration.
- Supporting Court of Protection work, including deputyship applications.
- Providing clear, empathetic advice to clients and developing lasting client relationships.
- Contributing to team meetings, business development activities, and the wider success of the department.
What We’re Looking For: - A 0–2 PQE Solicitor, ideally with a completed training seat in Private Client or a demonstrable interest in this area of law.
- A solid academic background and a commitment to building a career in Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Tax Planning.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to explain legal matters sensitively and clearly.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach with a strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to prioritise your own workload.
- A desire to progress within a growing and well-respected department.
